OBITUARY
James C. Cooper, the oldest of three children was born on January 31, 1934 in Lloyd, Florida to the late James and Jessie Mae (Richardson) Cooper. James passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL on November 3, 2024 at the age of ninety (90).
James was known as JC, Frog, and “the baddest man in town”. He was a caring person who had a love for guns. He received his education in the Lloyd Public Schools and worked in Pulk Wood and dipped turpentine in Baker County for over 25 years. In 1953 he married Louvenia Wilcox. From this union, five children were born. He later moved to Pocomoke City, Maryland where he met and married Edna Reynolds until her death. He lived in Maryland for over 50 years before moving to Gainesville, FL in 2018 where he resided until his passing.
He leaves to cherish his memory his five kids, Barbara Jernigan, Lorene (Bennie) Patterson, Willie James (Calandra) Cooper, Ida (Jerome) Goodman, Marguretta (Mike) Brown. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a special niece Renee Schoolfield, and a special friend Betty Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Jessie Mae, his loving wife Edna Reynolds Cooper, Step-son Elwood Taylor and his siblings Bobbie Lee Schoolfield and Benjamin Franklin Cooper, and special niece Geraldine Ames.
His un-daunting love will be remembered by all of those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by him.
